Chapel Hosts Europe’s Fastest Supercomputer

If Europe has something in abundance, it is churches and chapels. Driving through the countryside in e.g. Germany, Italy, France or Spain, every town has its Catholic and/or Protestant churches. The further you go south, the more market share the catholic church will have, with practically 100% in its headquarter country Italy, but also in Spain.
Now since there are so many of them, some Spanish scientists must have thought that they can be used for other things as well (I saw once in Germany - Willingen - a chapel that hosts now a bar).
How about hosting Europe’s - currently - fastest- supercomputer? I would have thought that is a joke but this morning the ranking of the world’s 500 fastest supercomputers was published again, and on its list Europe’s fastest is the Barcelona Supercomupting Center’s Mare Nostrum in the above chapel Torre Girona. Better than making a bar or restaurant out of it I thought. And as you can see there seems even room to host more of the IBM computer blades in it.
